This policy explains what happens to information when you use Tax Appeal Map (taxappealmap.com).
You don't need an account. We don't ask for your name or contact details, we don't sell information, and the calculator and appeal letter work entirely in your browser. We use Google Analytics and our own cookie-free counter to see how many people use the site.
Everything you type into the savings calculator and the appeal letter is processed in your own browser. It is not sent to us or stored on our servers. The PDF and Word files are created on your device.
Our site is hosted by Cloudflare, whose servers receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the page and protect the site. We run our own simple visit counter, without cookies and without storing your IP address. It records which pages are viewed, the website you came from, your country and state, device and browser type, how long a page is open and how far it is scrolled, and which buttons and links are used. It never records anything you type into the forms. To tell new visits from returning ones, it keeps a random identifier in your browser's local storage; you can remove it by clearing your browser data for this site. We may also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies. We also use Google Analytics, a service from Google that sets cookies to count visits and understand how the site is used; Google receives your IP address and information about your device and the pages you view. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or by blocking cookies. We do not use advertising cookies.
If we add other analytics or advertising, we will update this page first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply. We don't add you to any mailing list unless you ask.
This site is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
Because we don't keep personal information tied to you, there is usually nothing to access or delete. If you've emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, write to us. Residents of states such as California may have additional rights under state privacy laws; contact us to exercise them.
